#onthisday when people in WA talk about privacy in the bills being considered for student privacy…this is the kind of shit they are trying to protect. Quit making it about trans kids. It’s about all the kids who experience abuse, neglect, and deep, deep mental pain, anguish, sadness, and worthlessness. They can’t learn what we need them to learn when they suffer this greatly. And teachers shouldn’t be the first line of defense for this. It sucks. It’s so painful to learn what your students are going through and know there’s so little we can do about it except be there for them in small moments when they struggle.
