This past Monday's MLK Jr. Day of Service Kahuku Beach Cleanup was such a beautiful reminder of why we do the work that we do. It's not just about cleaning beaches. It's about bringing together community. It's about fostering relationship between one another, place, and 'aina. And all of this while being part of something bigger than ourselves🌱 Thanks to the efforts of over 350+ volunteers who came to serve 7,780+ Ibs of marine debris was removed from our coastline including millions of pieces of microplastic! In total there were 9.4 acres of coastline at Mālekahana and the Kahuku golf course beach (Keoneʻōʻio) that were stewarded🙌🏽 Mahalo nui loa to everyone who showed up and gave their time and intention to make this beautiful day possible! We are so thankful to our Kahuku community and our cleanup collaborator and friends Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation for making this day happen🩵
