When we moved into our RV nearly 3 years ago, we never planned to make this lifestyle a long-term thing—let alone build a community of people we now call our best friends. Truthfully, it didn’t happen effortlessly. But if you’re looking to build a community on the road, here are some tips that can help make it happen! 1️⃣ Consider a Thousand Trails Membership- Thousand Trails campgrounds are a hotspot for full-time families! You’ll meet people at campground events or just around the park. Plus, since you’ll likely stay at the same campgrounds in the future, you’re bound to run into familiar faces! 2️⃣ Join Groups Like Fulltime Families or Gathering of Nomads- We haven’t officially joined these groups, but we’ve heard amazing things about their events and the strong connections people build through them. 3️⃣ The Most Important Tip: SPEND TIME AT YOUR CAMPGROUND! When you’re new to RV life, it’s tempting to pack your schedule with sightseeing. But if you want to make friends, you’ve got to create space to meet them! 👯‍♂️Attend campground events and activities. 👯‍♂️Chat with parents at the playground or pool. 👯Host a movie night with a projector on the side of your camper. 👯‍♂️Invite neighbors to try out a new church with you. Put yourself out there! It might feel awkward at first, but after one time, it’ll feel like a completely normal thing to do. You’ll either make a lifelong friend or casually part ways —there’s not much to lose! Trust me, the friendships you make on the road will be some of the best. 🛻💛 Let me know if you have any other tips for building community on the road? 👇🏼 •-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•- ✨Hi! 👋🏼 We’re the Langstons, full-time RV living since 2022.
