Just when I think life with Garrett couldn’t get any sweeter, he proves me wrong in the best way. If you thought you had the best Valentine’s Day, I hate to break it to you—but I think I’ve got you beat. Gifts aren’t my top love language, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t appreciate them. This man knows me like the back of his hand. He made sure I slept in, snuck out for hours, and set up the kind of surprise that had me in awe. Walk into the kitchen, and there it is—a Mossberg Patriot in 6.5 Creedmoor, covered in my favorite Kuiu pattern. A dozen big, bold roses, chocolates, sour candy, a teddy bear, my favorite Redbull and a biscuit. And just when I thought that was it, he hit me with the biggest surprise of all—he booked us a trip to Australia this August to hunt water buffalo! A rifle, a hunt, and a man who keeps me on my toes—what more could a girl ask for? But it’s not just about the gifts, the hunts, or the surprises. It’s about the way he loves me—the way he shows me, every single day, that he’s going to be the best husband and father. The way he makes sure I feel cherished, protected, and supported in every dream, every adventure. This little life we’re building together feels like a dream I don’t want to wake up from. I can’t wait for my dad to walk me down the aisle to him. To start a family, raise little ones in the same world we love so much, and give them every reason to love the things we do. The sound of boots on frosty ground before first light, the feeling of a rifle in steady hands, the weight of responsibility and respect for the animals we hunt. Teaching them to work hard, to cherish this land, and to understand the deep-rooted traditions that have shaped us. Thank God for bringing us together. All the heartache, pain, and hardships I endured were so worth it now that I’ve found him. Every wrong turn, every setback—it all led me straight to the man I’m meant to be with. And I’ll stand by him through thick and thin, loving him deeper than the holler, stronger than the river, higher than the pine trees growin’ tall upon the hill. His love is pure, steady, and unwavering—just like the life we’re building together. And look, I get it—some people think Valentine’s Day is just a “government-made holiday” to take more money from us. But maybe, just maybe, it’s not about the money. Maybe it’s about setting aside a day to step back from the chaos of life, to reset, and to appreciate the person who walks through it all with you. Your best friend. The one you rely on. Your partner in every sense of the word. Because at the end of the day, love isn’t about never showing appreciation—it’s about making sure they never have to wonder if they’re appreciated. We spent the rest of the day unwinding before heading to Prairiefire Grille for dinner—Prairie Sushi (chicken and jalapeños rolled up just right), a side salad drowning in ranch, and Seafood in Alfredo Sauce, loaded with mussels, shrimp, and scallops. And, of course, we had to wash it all down with a Prairie Fire Mule and the house margarita. Somewhere between the first bite and the last sip, we sat there, just us, in the moment. No cameras, no distractions—just gratitude, laughter, and those little reassurances that remind us why this life together is so good. This man hasn’t always been this way with girls, but I guess it took the right one to bring it out of him. Don’t tell him I told y’all he was sweet though! I’m so blessed to be with him, and I love this life more and more every day.
