The Trump administration is aggressively rolling back protections for LGBTQ+ employees. . The president CANNOT revoke an Act of Congress nor r can he write laws. However, he CAN control enforcement of the law. . Here’s how he’s rolling back LGBTQ rights: 1. Ended DEI programs at the federal level. 2. Ordered the AG to reverse application of Bostock v Clayton County (2020), which prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. 3. Placed a veteran anti-civil rights lawyer in charge of the EEOC. Things are changing FAST. We still have most of the civil rights we had when this week began, but I’ll be keeping you in the loop. #civilrights #Pride #knowyourworth #laborlaw #legalnews #selfesteem #work
President Trump’s executive order and the remote work for all federal employees will affect many low level line workers that process or paperwork handle or phone calls and provide basic service to the public. many of these workers were high remotely and don’t even live in the same city where their home office is located. Any remote work means that they will be laid off. ##employmentlaw ##EmploymentLawyer##LaborLaw##LaborLawyer
California used thousands of prisoners to fight wildfires. But this isn’t a new thing—California has relied on inmate fire crews since WWII. . The program is controversial. So I sat with a former inmate firefighter to hear about his experience. I also want to show you an interview from an inmate currently serving in the LA fires. . It’s a program that inmates generally say positive things about. But the pay is a major point of contention. . Let me know what you think about this! . . #lafires #palisadesfire #eatonfire #lafd #calfire #california #prison #criminaljustice #laborlaw #hassanpiker
