Growing up around car events, I became accustomed to the predominant guy culture. I was surprised—and thrilled—when I overheard a woman my age with colorful green hair excitedly talking about “making it to 300 mph.” Intrigued, I introduced myself and she graciously allowed me to start filming her rookie driving passes in the Iron Dinosaur with nothing more than my iPhone. The event spans 10 days, and as the story unfolded, a cinematographer from New York eventually joined me on the salt. What started as a spontaneous encounter turned into the serendipitous and experimental journey that became this film! ******** Rookie driver Landspeed Liz takes on the chance of a lifetime to pilot the Iron Dinosaur—a 300 mph race car—on Utah's unforgiving Bonneville Salt Flats, known as ‘the Great White Cathedral.’ With a team gripped by ‘salt fever,’ an unreasonable passion for racing on the hostile flats, Liz faces down a field that has often underestimated her.
