The New Hope-Lambertville bridge has partially reopened to Pennsylvania bound traffic & also letting #locals walk across after closing 10 days ago. The bridge was originally scheduled to remain completely closed till January 27th, replacing a deteriorated steel pin. The bridge commission will continue to provide free shuttle service until the end of the week. The bridge is on track to re-open with two-way traffic sometime in mid February. The Lambertville-New Hope bridge will close to all traffic starting on January 13th & will stay closed to all crossings till January 27th. The reason for the closure involves an 18 inch steel pin that supports a critical part of the bridges second trust span on the #PA side. The 120 year old kid has rusted and warm to the point where it could fail. The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission has contracted a bus shuttle between the towns for free, intended for bridge walkway patrons. The shuttle will run every 15 mins & from 7am - 11pm. #NJ bound motorists will be detours to Rt 202. PA bound drivers have 3 options: - Route 202 which is a $1.50 that is only rolled in the #pennsylvania bound direction. - The #Stockton bridge which is 3 miles north - the narrow Washington Crossing Bridge about 7 miles south.
