Ever wonder how these cultural values shape our mental health? Let's dive in and break it down-Latina therapist edition! . . ¿Alguna vez te has preguntado cómo estos valores culturales influyen en nuestra salud mental? ¡Vamos a profundizar y desglosarlo al estilo de una terapeuta Latina! #HealingWithCulture #LatinaTherapist #MentalHealthMatters"
It’s a toxic dance of invalidation and implied shame. In many Latinx households, expressing emotions or mental health struggles is treated as a sign of weakness—or worse, a personal failure. And the “brutal honesty” disguised as tough love only reinforces the silence. You learn to filter yourself just as much as they filter their words, and vulnerability becomes a dangerous thing. Breaking out of that cycle is hard. It’s about recognizing that their “honesty” says more about them than it does about you. It’s about unlearning the shame they handed you and allowing yourself the space to feel—without apology, without filters. It’s also about drawing boundaries, even if it means redefining what family support looks like. Because the truth is, you don’t need their filtered or unfiltered negativity. What you need is grace—for yourself, your healing, and the courage it takes to grow in environments that tried to stifle you. #MentalHealthMatters #LatinxMentalHealth #ToxicHouseholds #BreakingGenerationalTrauma #LatinxCulture #HealingJourney #BoundariesAreHealthy #ToughLoveIsntLove #TherapyIsForEveryone #EndTheStigma #LatinaTherapist #SelfLoveJourney #GenerationalHealing #EmotionalGrowth #HealingWithMarla #MentalHealthAwareness #FamiliaYSaludMental #SpeakYourTruth #UnlearnToxicity #VulnerabilityIsStrength

In 2023/2024 I experienced a Spiritual Awakening that made me questioned my purpose in life. I no longer felt tied to my identity as a therapist and questioned whether that was the path I was going to continue to follow. It was through the darkness that I realized that there is always light in our path.💡That the darkness is also beautiful because it allows us to connect to our light which is within us. 💫 In life we have free will and it’s up to us to decide how we interpret it. I’m not the same person or therapist anymore and I embrace this new version of me and I’m excited to see how my journey unfolds in 2025 and I welcome you along my journey. Have you experienced a Spiritual Awakening? How has it changed your life or identity? I’d love to hear about it! After years of burnout, in 2024 I got off the hustle bus and entered my soft life era. My first year of full entrepreneurship and the goal was to travel more, have slow mornings, and work less and more intentionally. My 2024 highlights: 🌟Focused on my coaching business where I empower first-gen Latinas to stop settling for a career that’s burning them out and move towards a career that aligns with their core values, passions, and strengths. 🌟Met my 2024 financial business goal. 🌟Did my first ayahuasca ceremony in Colombia and it changed the way I view life. It’s been a year of learning and unlearning, getting clear on what my heart wants, and giving myself permission to reinvent myself at any time. 2025 is feeling good already and I look forward to bringing the lessons I learned in 2024 and continuing to learn, grow, and be in gratitude of life! 🌱 #latinatherapist #latinastiktok #2024recap❤❤❤❤
