Struggling to keep up with laundry? I use to feel so overwhelmed and dreaded having to spend hours trying to catch up over the weekend. But now, as a homemaker and SAHM of 4, keeping up with laundry has become one of my easiest housework tasks! 👏🏻 Part of intentional homemaking is by having and sticking to a laundry routine that helps the laundry feel manageable to you. For my family - a daily laundry routine is essential! The steps to doing laundry are simple - wash, dry, sort, fold, and put away - but the key is having a specific routine for WHEN to do each step. Here’s what my daily laundry routine looks like: 1) Wash: Before breakfast, I grab the bag of dirty laundry and start a load. I set a phone timer to remind me when to switch it. 2) Dry: Before lunch, when my timer goes off, I switch the load to the dryer. 3) Sort, Fold, & Put Away: After lunch, I take the laundry to my room, sort and fold it on my bed, and immediately put it away. Tip: Don’t sit down to fold laundry - it slows you down and makes your arms more tired because you are lifting them higher than if you were standing up. Standing by the bed makes the job faster and easier. ✨ A simple daily laundry routine makes laundry feel more manageable.
