No, I won’t be making the Ally Pride flag. Like I said in the comments linked in this video: the straight pride flag is problematic and offensive. Queer people show pride because they are in the minority and need to increase visibility in order to gain safety and more rights. Straight people already have safety and rights, they are the assumed majority. The ally flag is based off the straight pride flag and it’s a big part of why I don’t like it. Straight and ally pride flags center the wrong people in the discussion of LGBTQIA+ empowerment. Allies can wear the inclusive or rainbow pride flags. And if you aren’t comfy with that then rock some pronouns! Cis straight people wearing pronouns normalizes and makes the practice safer for everyone which is an act of allyship. I generally think it’s best when allies show rather than tell their allyship. #lgbtq #Pride #lgbtqally #ally #queertiktok
