Remember why you started. I’ve recently been in a season of training where I’ve hated every minute of being in the gym. After getting COVID in September of 2020, I was left with systemic issues that I am still dealing with 3 years later — POTS, nervous system dysregulation, bloating & digestive issues, chronic fatigue, a resting heart rate in the 80s, brain fog, heart palpitations, low blood pressure, and exercise-induced bronchoconstriction, and more. Plus my hyermobile EDS just heightens all these symptoms. Starting any workout just reminded me that I’m in a body so incredibly foreign to me — one that fights me everyday. My numbers are at an all time low. I’ve been comparing my current fitness level to my pre-COVID level. I’ve feel undeniably trapped. But over the past couple weeks, I’ve changed how I’ve approached my training. I’ve stopped comparing my lifts to what they used to be & started accepting where the m at NOW. I stopped trying to beat my log book every week & just load the bar to whatever feels good that day. And I stopped taking myself so damn seriously, reminding myself why I started lifting in the first place. To improve my HEALTH. To feel STRONG. To have FUN. So if you’ve been in a season where training sucks, maybe try to have a little more fun with your training — dance during your rest periods, try some new exercises, & celebrate what your body CAN do, despite whatever external factors are making things hard as hell. I’m rooting for us 🫶🏼 Sincerely, Someone falling in love with fitness again. #fitnesstip #gymworkout #gymhumor #training #trainingtips #lifetsyle #laugh #fitnesshumor #motivation
