Eggnog: the holiday drink you either love or hate. I wasn’t a huge fan until I tried this recipe—it’s so easy, and you probably have all the ingredients at home! The recipe is courtesy of @mikellbrown1 Ingredients: • 8 cups milk (divided) • 4 eggs • ½ tsp salt • 2 tsp vanilla extract • 2 cans sweetened condensed milk • 1 tsp nutmeg • 1 pint heavy cream Recipe: 1. Combine Ingredients: • In a pan, whisk together 4 cups of milk and 4 eggs. 2. Cook Mixture: • Heat over medium, stirring constantly. • Once steaming, continue cooking for 20 minutes, stirring constantly. 3. Cool Safely: • Remove from heat and let cool. • For quicker cooling, place the pan in an ice bath, stirring occasionally. • Once cooled to below 70°F (21.1°C), refrigerate. 4. Add Flavorings: • After cooled completely (at least 40° F or 4.4°C), whisk in: • 4 cups of milk • ½ tsp salt • 2 tsp vanilla extract • 2 cans sweetened condensed milk • 1 tsp nutmeg 5. Incorporate Cream: • In a separate bowl, whip 1 pint of heavy cream until thick. • Gently fold the whipped cream into the eggnog mixture. 6. Store and Serve: • Transfer to a jug with a lid. • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours. • Shake well before serving. Enjoy!
