I took a bunch of videos around the haram so you can see what it looks like when you’re driving around Makkah. I always heard the stories from our faith about the Prophet pbuh climbing the mountains for meditation, refuge and safety. So I knew there were mountains but I didn’t picture actual giant rocks jutting out into the city and the homes being perched on top of them. Every time we were on our bus going to sights, I would stare out the window and imagine a time where all the structures, roads and cars weren’t here and would try to transform it in my mind into a barren land with nomadic tribes— roaming around on foot and by camel and donkey. It would have been hot. There’s not a lot of shade from the elements. And it’s these very lands that civilization was created from (Adam) and that all of our beloved Prophets pbuh would have visited, lived on and seen with their own eyes.
