I wrote this song for 3 reasons. Reason 1:  This past year my Mom had sent me an article she had read revolving around mother's and their sons. The article says - "I gave away being the one he hugs and kisses. I gave away being the one he looks for in a crowd. I gave away being the person he turns to when things get tough. I gave away a piece of my heart. I gave away my son" I wrote this song with the title "Mama hold me" to let her know I still need her hugs and they are still healing Reason # 2 My Mom was really sick recently and discovered she had a massive tumor taking over her brain. The extreme pain was causing lapse of memory and paranoia. She made it through 14 hours of a dangerous surgery. I felt like she needed this song as much as I did at the time so I got to writing. Reason #3 I feel like Mom's don't get enough love. I feel people write their mothers off too quickly and hold grudges too long. There's no such thing as a perfect mother or perfect person but all 7 + Billion people living on this planet came from a woman and I feel that earns them more respect and love then they usually get.
