Back to the girls’ bathroom to start the year! And I’ve been focused on all the walls over the last week or so! I started with tile — I used 1x6 PVC for my baseboards and added 3x12 white marble tiles 4’ up from the baseboards. Then I topped them with a marble chair rail & grouted with eggshell unsanded mapei grout! Don’t forget to seal marble before and after you grout! After a plumber & electrician came out to reroute some things (because I don’t do anything inside the walls), I repaired drywall on the main wall and gave it a new coat of mud since the peel and stick stuff that was on here before tore it apart. I sanded and did a quick second coat in some spots before using thin decorative trim to add picture frame moulding to the wall! I spray painted the mirrors champagne bronze and installed new light fixtures and outlet covers! Annnnnd NOW THE WALLS ARE FINISHED! Unless I decide I want to add something above the chair rail later that is. “I’m looking in on the good life” • Nothing else like getting in the zone, and working on a project to see it through to the end. Tile work especially, it really lets me get into a flow state, turn on some tunes, just let the hours fly by. • I haven’t installed marble tiles in a while, I find taking my time helps me make sure everything is level, and well adhered, not to mention spacing for the brick lay.. now that the master tub nook is wrapped up, next up is the rest of the bathroom walls! • #tile #DIY #construction #tileinstallation #marbletiles #masterbath #homebuild
