Last night, I enjoyed the first Zoom meet with my teacher Alex Skolnick! He and I have been in touch the entire time since we got connected a few years ago. And for a couple of months we’ve been planning a Zoom meet and last night we were finally free and I had my first class with him! He taught me so many things that I can keep myself busy with for at least a month! I had so many questions for him and he answered them all in so much detail so in the end, the entire meet went for an hour and a half! He showed me how to make awesome melodies on the spot without getting stuck to the same script over and over, he showed me how to practice soloing, he played examples of him playing on the spot and explaining his method in detail, he explained how to make arpeggios, the importance of triads and how much it helps when soloing to not get repetitive, and much more! It was one of the most educating days I’ve ever had. And the way he explains in so much detail and simplicity makes it super easy to understand and you realise how easy his method is that I feel so silly I never figured it out. One of the most important things I learnt from him is how easy it is to use small musical components to create solos and melodies rather than being overwhelmed with the entire scale and showed me practical examples of how this works. So it was such an educating experience with my best friend and he gave me an understanding on music which I’ve never had before. I really look forward to our next meet and I’m very, very grateful to Alex Skolnick for being so giving to me and clearing my mind on many things - music and personal! So I just wanted to share with all of you an amazing meet I’ve had with Mr Skolnick last night! A memorable time and honor! ❤️❤️❤️ #alexskolnick #mayaneelakantan #testamentband #guitarlegend #guitarteacher #guitarlessons
