For me, it was always about increasing diversity in medicine, mentoring, and teaching. I’ve used this theme in every personal statement I’ve ever written—from med school to residency. Why? Because that’s who I am, and when you know who you are, writing becomes easy. Take some time to reflect on your journey and what truly matters to you.
