ADHD is often misunderstood, leading many undiagnosed adults to struggle through life, mistakenly attributing their challenges to personal failings! I see this in my practice way too often. 🥹 In reality, ADHD affects approximately 6.0% of U.S. adults, equating to about 15.5 million individuals. ADHD is frequently underdiagnosed in adult women. This underdiagnosis can be attributed to several factors, including societal expectations, symptom presentation, hormonal changes, and a lack of awareness among healthcare providers. ADHD is as unique as the people who live with it. These habits aren’t universal, but some observations that may resonate with those who have ADHD. One habit that stands out to me is the cycle of picking up hobbies with laser-sharp focus, mastering them (or losing interest), and moving on to the next. 🤸 It’s not necessarily a bad thing (think of all the skills and experiences gained along the way) but it’s definitely something I’ve seen people notice about themselves. Remember, these habits aren’t diagnostic, but pieces of a larger puzzle. If you have ADHD, or someone close to you does, do these sound familiar? Or are there other habits you think deserve a spot on this list? Let me know in the comments! 🤍
