Merry Christmas to me/our family šŸŽ We purchased a used 2020 Honda Pilot Touring šŸ¤ I have sooo much to say about this process and journey so let me see what I can fit into a captionā€¦ to start I literally cannot believe the day has finally come and that we are saying goodbye to our 2015 Civic Coupe. Iā€™m so grateful that car kept us safe and got us where we needed to be all these years, but it was truly a struggle to make it work. We knew this was the year that we would finally retire that vehicle and upgrade. I spent the last several months researching, studying, and planning. I watched countless videos/reviews by @The Car Mom: Kelly Stumpe and @caredge. I also found the Car Edge website to be such a valuable tool! I highly, highly recommend looking into it if youā€™re on the market for a new/used car. I looked at vehicles all over the Bay Area and went into nearby dealerships to get an in-person feel for our top 4 options. We pretty much knew that we wanted a Honda Pilot but contemplated several other makes and models; only to circle back to the Pilot Touring. The day that we finally were ready to potentially pull the trigger the ā€œburnt toast theoryā€ was in full effect. First, I couldnā€™t find my pink slip for the trade in. Then, a big truck was blocking our entire driveway. Then, our garage door wouldnā€™t close. On top of it, my daughter was fussy because it was her nap time and my son was understandingly losing his patience waiting around for us to leave. My husband started getting flustered and I told him ā€œWait a minuteā€¦ this isnā€™t a coincidence.ā€ I explained the burnt toast theory to him and I said letā€™s just take a breath šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø There was an accident on the way to the dealership and lots of trafficā€¦ but we were no longer flustered and just taking things moment by moment. I thought to myself- weā€™ve already waited all these years- whatā€™s a few more delays? My in-laws met us at the dealership to help with the kids as we test drove, negotiated, and finalized all the paperwork. There were a few loose-ends that needed to be settled the next morning so we actually left without our mid-size SUV and had to come back the next day. Finally, on Christmas Eve we picked up our new car. It was such a relief and so exciting!!! Iā€™m incredibly grateful and look forward to sharing more about it all soon šŸ„¹šŸ¤šŸ«¶šŸ½šŸ–¤ P.S. What should we name her??? šŸ„ #carshopping #carmom #carvlog #hondapilot #momcar #midsizesuv #bayareablogger #sfblogger #mombloggers #toddlermom #momof2 #familyof4 #caredge
