⬇️ It’s hard to know when it’s the right time to leave your job. If you leave too early (after only a year) you will look like a job hopper and if you stay too long potential employers might not want to hire you because they worry that you don’t have diverse experience and/or you will be less adaptable to change. 👉Watch this video @Anna Papalia for my
#1 job search tip 👈 It is very much a delicate balance. Stay at a job long enough to gain great experience (usually 3-5 year) but too long (anything longer than 5plus years) 📌Once you’ve been in a role for 3 years here are some things to consider. •Is there a lack of fulfillment? •Limited growth opportunities? •A poor work-life balance? •A toxic work environment? •Are you underpaid? •A mismatch between your personal values and company culture? or •Has a significantly better opportunity arisen elsewhere? 🧑🏽💻Essentially, when you feel unchallenged, unappreciated, or dread going to work regularly it might be time to look for a new job. That doesn’t necessarily mean you need to find a new company. If you work for a large organization that you like, start there and look for a new job internally. 🤝If there are no internal opportunities, update your resume and start networking. 🤓A corporate career doesn’t guarantee safety or intellectual stimulation, you need to give that to yourself. You cannot rely on your boss or a company to make sure that you are challenged, stimulated and put in the right places to be developed, that’s your job.
