Sometimes we get so comfortable in our “good thing” that we don’t remember to step back and take in just how good it really is! When I first noticed my hair was shedding to the point of balding, my sister recommended @stylesbydrik and as he listened to us speak, he was looking her up on Instagram. When I told him I was ready to take back all that had been taken from me, he went and purchased a gym membership at my dream gym without hesitation. When I found @saboskirt ,thanks to @lynnswayxx lol, as I was still healing from my hysterectomy, he paid for my cart I was hesitant to press the button on and I’ve been getting about two shipments a month ever since. When my skin first started breaking out, 8 years ago, whatever makeup or skin care I needed, he purchased. A lot of what I’ve learned about my skin is because of the research he’s done, as he sat by my bedside at night, praying over me to see better days (this is what he told me when I’d ask where’d he learned these things from lol). Keeping up with my appointments on HIS calendar in HIS phone, the daily reminders of how beautiful I am, the “baby, I got it here, take your time and enjoy yourself” moments when life seems to be breaking me and I need a moment outside of the house. Ugh, I seriously can’t thank Him enough!!! I looked in that mirror today, at my hair thriving, this fit FITTING because the body is BODYING, my nails sparkling, my skin healing (I have no active bumps still YAY) and my ring upgrade from 6 years ago still doing what an upgrade is supposed to DO and I just felt an immense amount of thankfulness. Thankful that the young man i met almost 16 years ago is still the GROWN MAN he always said he was! Tell your husband/wife thank you, right now! In the comments, through text, in person when they are home from slaying those dragons, whatever and however. Let them know you see them and are forever grateful for them. When Jahneiss and I were dating, I was the “surprise” type. I still remember her birthday where I planned a whole day out, doing all of her favorite things and ended the night at one of her favorite restaurants! It didn’t even cost me much, but her joy came from the effort I put into it all! Since being married and having children, I’ve struggled to maintain that! She’s desired for years to see that side of me once again and I’ve gotten better, but I must get more consistent with it! I’m not good at juggling multiple things, a flaw of mine I recognize and put the work in to overcome. After seeing how she lit all the way up the entire day, I asked her send me a list of all of her hopes and dreams for quality time with me! Truly thankful I married the best. Not only for selfish reasons but he’s truly the best dad. So intentional, so loving, so giving, and constantly pointing them to Christ.
