Originally founded in Denver in 2015 by Jason and Kris Wallenta and Jason’s wife, Riley O’Brien, this family-owned taqueria is a heartfelt tribute to the brothers Mexican heritage and their mother’s influence. Growing up in Mexico City and spending time on the Yucatan Peninsula and Cozumel, Jason and Kris developed a deep connection to Mexico’s culinary landscape, which is reflected in every dish they serve. Located in the vibrant neighborhood of Wedgewood-Houston, Dos Santos serves elevated, authentic Mexican fare alongside an extensive tequila and mezcal selection. We got: • Margarita Flight - House Margarita, Hibiscus Margarita, Spicy Passionfruit (it had a KICK) • O.M.F.G Taco • Fish Taco • Shrimp Taco • Taco de Castacan The marg flights were SO GOOD, our favorite was probably the Spicy Passionfruit, you must like some heat cause that thing was KICKIN and the O.M.F.G taco. Chex Grill & Wings - If you’re looking for some incredible wings with a ton of flavors you have to check out this new spot that just opened up over on the west side of town. They have over 50 flavors and the wings are super crispy and saucy! 2. kase - @kasexnoko if you haven’t heard of them by now, no offense but you’ve been living under a ROCK!! 😭 They’re the sister restaurant to @nokonashville and they are bringing and incredible omakase experience that Nashville has never seen before at their price point. (Also the drink menu is insane, NA included) 3. Haraz Coffee House - @harazcoffeehouse a newer Yemeni coffee house that opened late 2024 is serving up some of the most delicious coffee. The pistachio latte is INSANE. One of the best we’ve had. 4. Luogo - @luogorestaurant what has become a tried and true staple for Mediterranean coastal Italian cuisine in Nashville just introduced a new dish on their menu, the Fettucine Lobster pasta dish and it is delicious. 5. Butterlamp - @butterlampnashville with all this talk about sourdough online if you are feeling a craving for some incredibly delicious and fresh sourdough, the sourdough bread at Butterlamp is incredible. Such a great place to grab a glass of wine and chill. 6. 888 - @888nashville newly opened as of late 2024, this Japanese hotspot is serving up one of the most delicious Tempura Soft Shell Crab and Udon dishes. The vibes here are 10/10. If you’re looking for a low-key spot with great Vietnamese food, we’d definitely recommend checking out @lovepeaceandpho off Franklin Pike. 🍜 The chicken wings with pickled onions were packed with flavor, and the beef pho was everything we hoped for. But the Bun Cha Ha Noi? Specializing in authentic Vietnamese dishes like Pho, made with beef bone broth, Vermicelli noodle salad bowls, and Banh Mi sandwiches, every item is crafted with homemade care—even their bread.
