Trail & Permit Information ⤵️ 📌 Tips for Responsible Recreation: 🌎 Leave it better than you found it. 🥾 Stay on the trail. ⛺️ Camp on durable surfaces. 🐻 Respect wildlife & keep your distance. 🚮 Pack out your trash & any trash you find. 😀 Be respectful to others. ⚠️ Follow local rules & regulations. 🎒 Bring the proper gear & stay safe. ⛈️ Always check current local weather. 🏕 To stay overnight in the conundrum permit zone you must get a permit from Recreation.gov on the days listed below: 8am 2/15/2025 - permits open for 4/1-7/31 8am 6/15/2025 - permits open for 8/1-11/30 📌 Save this hike: 📍 Conundrum Creek Trail 🗓️ Date Visited: 6/22/2024 🅿️ Relatively small dirt parking lot. Parking is not allowed along the access road. 🥾 16.9 miles RT, 2,788’ of elevation. 💦 There are multiple water crossings so be prepared and do not attempt to cross anything that you are not comfortable with. ⚠️ Follow all White River National Forest & Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness rules and regulations. ⛺️ Camping in the conundrum permit zone is only allowed in designated campsites that must be reserved ahead of time. 🔥 Campfires are prohibited above 10,800’ and at all campsites in the conundrum permit zone. 🐻 Be bear and moose aware and if you are backpacking bear cans are required. 🚻 Use portable toilets (WAG Bags) or bury waste in a 6-8” deep hole away from campsites, trails, and water sources. Pack out toilet paper. 🧭 We recommend downloading the trail map before attempting this hike. 👥 The maximum group size is 10. 🚫 Outside of the conundrum permit zone camping is not allowed within 100’ of lakes, streams, or trails and free self serve permits are required. 🦮 Dogs on leash are allowed on the first section of the trail, but they are not allowed in the conundrum permit zone so we don’t recommend bringing them.
