𝗔 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘆, 𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗢𝟮 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 Since I just shared a similar 1-day post-op video, this is the perfect time to highlight something very important. Look at how smooth and healthy her skin looks while on the table. This is what all my patients look like BEFORE I complete the CO2 Laser Resurfacing treatment. If she chose not to receive that treatment, we would be waking her up and getting her ready for recovery. The difference between the "scary" post-op results and what you're seeing here comes down to one of two factors: 𝙃𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙉𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨: I've featured these in many of my videos, and if you frequently watch facelifting content, you have certainly seen them used. This "web"-like suturing technique helps relieve tension on the incision, improving both the results and healing. Although the sutures only stay in for a few days after surgery, without context, they can look intense. 𝘾𝙊2 𝙇𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙧 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜: The "burned" appearance and redness that often cause the most concern are the least invasive parts of the whole procedure. Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing works by using pulsed light energy to carefully remove thin layers of skin in the desired area, with minimal damage to the surrounding tissue. It creates microscopic wounds to stimulate skin regeneration and new collagen. Essentially, the lasers work by vaporizing the upper layer of the skin, focusing on water molecules. The laser's bark is much worse than its bite. Does the immediate result look scary? Yes. Are the results worth the 7-10 day recovery period? I and many of my patients think so, though not everyone does. I want to close this caption out with a shoutout to my patients. Especially with a video like this one, I have so much respect, admiration, and appreciation for them. Not only are they trusting me with their procedure, but their likeness and social presence. This is not something many of us would want to share and I try to always do what I can to do this most respectfully. Stay tuned for her day 1 results coming next week.
