Replying to @maxie <3 they would fit the “other worldly being and morally questionable scientist” trope Like Sci bribing NM to be allowed to study his “Guardian-ness” for lab supplies, medical equipment, or anything NM’s gang needs. Sci is struggling to justify aiding NM, he’s telling himself that the research he’s doing will be for the greater good. The masses of the multiverse has practically no (trustworthy) knowledge on divine beings and he could make a breakthrough for the mortals of the multiverse- they wouldn’t need to hide behind questionable gods to be safe from other gods (Sci would be famous, rich, his name would be known by all- deep down it is becoming his main motivator) And NM isn’t sitting idly by, he’s slowly getting into Sci’s head- making him question himself and his motives. He is subtly manipulating the results in his favor. He is slowly swaying Sci from being neutral to NMs side Sci’s easy excitement over what NM considers mundane feeds his massive (god complex) ego. He is a Guardian! (Just like his brother) It’s about time he is properly worshiped for once!
