I adopted a coral fragment!! This is Roxy (short for Roxanne) that was my moms middle name 🩷 I’m excited to watch this fragment grow over the years and so happy to do my part in helping the coral reef! πŸͺΈ POCILLOPORA VERRUCOSA P. Verrucosa is also known as cauliflower coral or rasp coral, a type of hard coral species. They are known for their bright vivid colors like pink! P. Verrucosa you can find this species on Mo’orea island. This species can grow to massive sizes with thick branches. Because of this, they are able to withstand the swell energy of the reef break. @Coral Gardeners #coral #coralfrags #coralreef #coralreefs #coralgardeners #adoptacoral #adoptacoralrestoreareef #oceanfacts #educate #themoreyouknow #ocean #marineconservation #spreadawareness #wildlifeconservation #savetheocean #oceanography #tarimahthezoologist #tarimahmalika πŸ§œπŸ½β€β™€οΈ πŸͺΈπŸͺΌπŸ¬πŸ‹πŸ¦ˆπŸ‘πŸ™πŸ§πŸ¦¦πŸ πŸ¦‘
Ctenophores are marine invertebrates commonly known as β€œcomb jellies”. Comb jellies are oval-shaped with a pair of long branched tentacles used for entangling their prey. They have 8 rows of comb-like plates called β€œcomb rows” that run along the length of its body. Each row has thousands of long cilia (short hair-like membrane) that can grow up to 2 mm long that is used for swimming. As they swim, the cilia diffract light and shimmer with beautiful rainbow colors! They are the largest animals to swim with the help of cilia. #Bizarrebuttrue #coolfact #combjelly #combjellies #ctenophore #oceanfacts #educate #themoreyouknow #marinebiology #marinezoologist #marinelife #oceancreatures #animalfacts #animals #oceananimals #animallover #sealife #seaanimals #ocean #marineconservation #spreadawareness #wildlifeconservation #savetheocean #oceanography #zoology #tarimahthezoologist #tarimahmalika πŸ§œπŸ½β€β™€οΈ πŸͺΈπŸͺΌπŸ¬πŸ‹πŸ¦ˆπŸ‘πŸ™πŸ§πŸ¦¦πŸ πŸ¦‘
Brown Pelican’s will fly 60 to 70 ft above the ocean to spot schools of fish. They will then forage by diving in bill-first, submerging completely below the surface momentarily to catch its prey. Upon surfacing, they will spill the water from its throat pouch before swallowing its prey! #Bizarrebuttrue #coolfact #brownpelican #seabirds #oceanfacts #educate #themoreyouknow #marinebiology #marinezoologist #marinelife #oceancreatures #animalfacts #animals #oceananimals #animallover #sealife #seaanimals #ocean #marineconservation #spreadawareness #wildlifeconservation #savetheocean #oceanography #zoology #tarimahthezoologist #tarimahmalika πŸ§œπŸ½β€β™€οΈ πŸͺΈπŸͺΌπŸ¬πŸ‹πŸ¦ˆπŸ‘πŸ™πŸ§πŸ¦¦πŸ πŸ¦‘
At Aquariums, β€œjellyfish” are referred to as β€œsea jellies”. This is because technically they are not fish. Sea jellies are classified as Cnidarians like coral and anemones. They are made up of 95% water and can survive without a heart, brain, or lungs, unlike other animals. Though they may lack organs, their net sensory nerve cells, tentacles and gonads are what they use to survive. #Bizarrebuttrue #coolfact #seajellies #jellyfish #cnidarian #oceanfacts #educate #themoreyouknow #marinebiology #marinezoologist #marinelife #oceancreatures #animalfacts #animals #oceananimals #animallover #sealife #seaanimals #ocean #marineconservation #spreadawareness #wildlifeconservation #savetheocean #oceanography #zoology #tarimahthezoologist #tarimahmalika πŸ§œπŸ½β€β™€οΈ πŸͺΈπŸͺΌπŸ¬πŸ‹πŸ¦ˆπŸ‘πŸ™πŸ§πŸ¦¦πŸ πŸ¦‘

Sea Jellies are planktonic, and drift with the water. They will contract their bells to help propel them through the water. Scientist believe that jellies and comb jellies may have lived on Earth for at least 500 million years (three times as old as dinosaurs!)!! #Bizarrebuttrue #coolfact #seajellies #jellyfish #cnidarian #oceanfacts #educate #themoreyouknow #marinebiology #marinezoologist #marinelife #oceancreatures #animalfacts #animals #oceananimals #animallover #sealife #seaanimals #ocean #marineconservation #spreadawareness #wildlifeconservation #savetheocean #oceanography #zoology #tarimahthezoologist #tarimahmalika πŸ§œπŸ½β€β™€οΈ πŸͺΈπŸͺΌπŸ¬πŸ‹πŸ¦ˆπŸ‘πŸ™πŸ§πŸ¦¦πŸ πŸ¦‘
