Multiple Oklahoma schools were placed on lockdown after receiving nearly identical threats that authorities later determined to be part of a coordinated “swatting” hoax. Yukon, Tuttle, Bethany, Moore, and Mustang Public Schools all issued lockdowns. Moore High School sent a message to parents shortly before 10 a.m. alerting them to an anonymous threat, which the Moore Police Department later confirmed as part of a national hoax involving the Veteran Crisis Hotline. The lockdown was lifted, but for some, like one mother of a Moore High School student, the incident left lasting anxiety.
