Traveling with an ostomy bag is *possible*—but it’s a whole different adventure. ✈️
I live with a permanent ileostomy which means I always wear a bag. And you know what??!?! I travel. A LOT!! 🥳 But, let’s be real—there are some challenges.
😩Navigating through airports, wondering if your bag will hold up… and let’s not even talk about those uncomfortable airplane bathroom experiences. 😅
But here’s the thing: I refuse to let my ostomy stop me from living my life to the fullest. 💅🏾 **I plan ahead,** always carry extras, and make sure I have what I need within easy reach. That means a travel kit with extra pouches, wipes, and seals, so I never feel unprepared. I also take time to *pre-check* bathrooms—I find the accessible ones and sometimes even reach out to places in advance. And you know what? Once I’m through those little hurdles, it’s smooth sailing. 🌍✨
So, yes, there are SOME limitations. Yes, sometimes it’s A LITTLE uncomfortable. But the beauty of having an ostomy bag is WE have the power to adjust, adapt, and thrive. I won’t let a bag define me, and neither should you!!!
