In 2018 things changed drastically… We were living in Indiana, the state we grew up in and lived all our lives in minus college. If you don’t know part of our why for RVing, Ryan traveled every week for work and it was hard. Every week it was a different plane to a different state. On a family vacation to Disney World our son said “I want to move here and go to the beach and ride Slinky Dog Dash every day!” When we returned to Indiana after that trip Ryan’s boss informed him that the Florida territory was available!!!! It was a dream come true, move to our favorite state (thus far 😉) and the hopes that Ryan would be able to be home more because he would go from 12 states to 1 + Puerto Rico. Fast forward through a lot of prayer and a lot of the details because I only have 200 characters…. We couldn’t find a house with all our checklists in a good school system and we didn’t want to have to worry about charter schools and we didn’t know if we could pay for 4 kids to go through private school. So I told Ryan that we should homeschool. He said no. He said that we both went to public school and that our kids should too. So I prayed. I really felt like we were supposed to homeschool and asked God to change his heart or shut the door and take it off of my heart. 3 days later Ryan flew in at midnight just so he could be there for our 2 oldest and go to donuts with dad at their public school. Because he flew in so late and left so early the next morning, we barely got a hello. Then at 8:03 after donuts he called and said “Tiff, I think we’re supposed to homeschool” That was in 2018 and we still love it and wouldn’t change a thing! Well, except that I would have started homeschooling from the very beginning! Our kids have seen and done more than I ever imagined and we’re not done yet!! Do you homeschool?
