As yall know, I take on a couple projects a year that need some special care and attention, sometimes physically, medically, sometimes emotionally/mentally or just need some behavioral issues fixed. I am not a rescue or 501c3, I do this on my own time and dime, just to help equines in need. I keep them a long time, once they are of great weight and trained appropriately for their age, I find them a forever home that suits who they are and what they need long term. They can always come back to me if for any reason the owner is not able to keep them. I saw this little filly and that she was skinny under the saddle in the pics they had up. I’d hoped that was an old pic and she’d gained some weight since the summer pics they had posted. Unfortunately, no, she is indeed thin, under muscled, ribby and you can run your hands down feeling her spine all the way to her tail head. Now, she is young and they can go through awkward growth stages, but this is absolutely more than that. She has some sort of fungal infection around her right eye that will require some meds. She’s warm, safe, has unlimited hay, alfalfa, minerals and water. I will get her nice and fattened up, take care of her medical needs and see where she is in age and training. We did notice she was branded and can use your help locating who her breeder was. This will give us info on her exact age, breeding, potential genetic testing of parents. We will be sending hair into APHA if we can’t track down her brand.
