Here is the other side of truck ownership that gets forgotten, when everything goes wrong and things break down. I noticed extra pressure in the cooling system and today hydrolock. I'm not sure exactly what's wrong until I pull the head but I suspect a liner issue or head gasket issue. My ex used to always say she always felt safe with me when we were out on the road. When I asked why she said because no matter what happens you always say calm and you always get us home. I think that really says a lot right there. You have a choice when everything goes wrong you can either stay calm and take care of the issue or you can lose it and panic. Staying call is the best way to handle these issues, definitely is a good way to get the issue taken care of quickly. After measuring each hole, number three is low on one side which is odd. So I did some checking where the head gasket blue and I think I might have a spacer plate problem. That wait was brand new from cat in August and I would expect it to be perfect but something seems off. What a joke. $750 for Actual CAT vs could have gotten aftermarket for $300. You literally can't buy anything good anymore and it's such a shame to watch this brand go down the toilet. So far the spacer plate seems to be the culprit. This had came from ATL Diesel, I'm not certain that I don't suspect a problem there either. I may try to check the squareness of the head. Had a little break this morning so it was nice to have a shower and breakfast before starting the day.. When I got in here last night there were six spots taken up by bobtails and I had to park in the driveway. Common sense really should prevail here, if you're a bobtail you shouldn't be taking up all the spots. At the very least double up when you can, parking is at an all-time premium these days. We have to start thinking as a community again and not all this individuality BS! When I'm bobtailing around I will stick this tractor in the grass if I have to because I don't want to hold up a spot for a tired driver who really needs a place to park. Start thinking about others and not what's convenient for yourself. We used to be a community, we always looked out for one another and what I see today is this idea that worry about me myself and i. The old guys taught me to drag the feeler gauge through a couple times and feel what is almost like a drag but not to where you have to force it. Right or wrong this is how I do it.
