My baby girl did not win, but she did fantastic shining on that stage. She was the youngest one in the overall pageant! So for her to compete alongside 14 year olds is an accomplishment in itself. I’m so incredibly proud of my girl. Carleigh did win a $500 scholarship that will go towards Carleighs platform “Carleigh Cares” which she will focus entirely on educating the youth on environmental conservation. Her objective is to conserve natural resources and the existing natural environment where it is possible to repair damage done to our planet. This past Saturday was a whirlwind of emotions! I am the newly crowned Ms Wheelchair South Carolina and in August I will compete for Ms Wheelchair America!! If you don’t know my story, I am an ER trauma nurse for the past 14 years, 8/30/22 I was shot with an AR15 in my front year, while walking in the headlight of my car, on purpose. I was left paralyzed from the hips down.. a week from my 32nd birthday and a month for being married to the LOML! It’s a true testimony that it was meant to be, I hope to one day tell you all the story of how great God truly is! And how truly blessed I am to still be alive today and thriving!! I know there may be a time that TikTok will go away. With her determination and drive to be as independent as she was prior to being shot and left paralyzed, she knew that anything is truly possible with determination and a purpose. And she is determined to not only tell but show the world that we are not handicapped or disabled, but people of determination. Determined enough to see and make a change, start movements, and be a voice to bring awareness to the Nation that handicap and disabled issues are just as important as anything else on the Nation’s agenda while empowering those along the way!
