@Panasonic USA’s top green innovations at CES ☀️🔋🌱 🌍
#ad Unlike most other companies at CES that did not have a strong stance, if any, on climate change, Panasonic was doing the WORK with these amazing environmental technologies. Here’s a quick recap: Perovskite is a building material that injects solar cells into windows. These tinted windows can be installed in any building all while generating electricity. Imagine building a greenhouse out of this material so that it could become closed loop and power itself ☀️ OASYS is their new HVAC system that not only heats, cools and improves the air quality in your home, but reduces energy consumption too. It’s also 53% more energy efficient which means it’s better for the planet and your energy bill 💰 I also learned that Panasonic is the number one producer of EV batteries in North America. Their manufacturing plants are not only becoming more carbon neutral, but their latest battery has 5x the storage capacity, aka WAY longer driving ranges 🔋 And last but not least was their Kinari material, which is a super durable bioplastic made from plant byproducts - in this case willow bark! They use the kinari in various consumer goods and unlike other recyclable materials used in the circular economy, kinari doesn’t lose its durability 💪 Between these innovations, jamming out to @steveaoki and seeing Captain America @anthonymackie on the keynote stage, it was an amazing week. Change needs to come from companies big and small, and I am proud to see Panasonic leadership that is not afraid to meet the climate crisis head on. As Panasonic CEO Yuki Kusumi said, We all know that the current system and practices are not sustainable. Not for the planet, and not for the physical and mental health of its people… The communities where we all work and live are dealing with climate change in different ways… I want to do everything I can to make sure that my children and grandchildren, and yours, and future generations, enjoy a healthy environment… in today’s reality, everything is connected.”
