I was a highly sensitive child (specifically an anxious, perfectionistic, ADHD girl in the 90s who talked "too much" and was always "distracting").    Here's one thing I wished I had: a parent who really understood me.    Instead, I was rejected, dismissed, ridiculed, and told I needed to "try harder" to be what everybody expected of me.    Almost 4 decades later, and I'm still healing from the anxious perfectionist who fears if she isn't 'just right' then she'll be 'all wrong'. IYKYK.    I know you want to be in your child's corner more than anything.    And I also know that parenting your highly sensitive child comes with unique challenges.    You need a different road map.    ⭐️That's why I'm teaching a class inside my community this Monday, Feb 10th called HELPING YOUR SENSITIVE KID THRIVE.    You'll learn more tools for helping your child build their confidence, express themselves in a way that feels good for them, and find more joy in being the bright light that they are.    Check the 🔗 in b1o for deets.    #parentyourselffirst #newbooktoread #consciousdiscipline #momstress #loveyourkids #parentingclass #parentingbook #parentingtips101 #helpingchildren #tbrbooks #newauthors #parentingexpert #parentgoals #parentingmoments #authorquotes #peacefulparenting #parentingcoach #respectfulparenting #attachmentparenting #tbrlist #authorcommunity #raisingkids #parentingadvice #parentinggoals #consciousparenting #mindfulparenting #gentleparenting #amreading #innerchild #parentingsupport

The kids don't need fixing.    It's us who need the healing.    I edited parts of this story to protect my client's confidentiality.    But the lesson is what I want you to focus on:    When we are able to understand the *context* of our triggers (especially as it relates to our past childhood experiences)...    And then we can make the connection between our past and our present...    Something magical happens.    We're able to release the stored tension from the wounds that haunt us.    We're able to show up in the ways we actually want to for our children.    For the father I discussed in the video, he was so angry at himself for escalating alongside his daughter.    He hated that when he opened his mouth, he heard his own father's words...something he promised himself he'd never do.    This is a recurring theme in my work with parents.    They want to do better.    They know that they need to be "calm".    But they don't know how to actually *get* to the calm.    This is precisely why I wrote PARENT YOURSELF FIRST. It's my mission in life to help parents build. more self-awareness, heal their childhood wounds, and find lasting and meaningful change in the relationship they share with their children.    ✅ If you have my book, would you please write an Amazon and Goodreads review? By doing so, you will be helping thousands of other parents who I haven't yet reached on my platform find their way toward personal healing and growth in their family relationships.    🩵 If you don't have my book, check the 🔗 in my bio for how to purchase Parent Yourself First and to learn how to becoming the parent you always needed.    #authorquotes #newauthors #authorcommunity #newbooktoread #tbrlist #tbrbooks #consciousparenting #consciousparentingtools #BookTok #amreading #parentingbook #attachmentparenting #innerchild #raisingkids #gentleparenting #parentingcoach #parentingexpert #parentingtips101 #consciousdiscipline #parentingmoments #parentgoals #momguilt #parentingsupport #parentingskills #mindfulparenting #parenting101 #parentingadvice #parentinggoals #peacefulparenting #respectfulparenting

Your burn out is not a badge of honor.    I asked my community if they feel burn out is glorified in their personal circles.    About 90% said yes.    Only 10% said they feel supported enough to avoid burn-out.    This is a serious cultural and societal problem.    The dishes need washed.    The clothes need folded.    The kids are hangry.    Some holiday or birthday is around the corner.    Are we due for a check-up?    When do I need to sign them up for summer camp?    Floods of to-do's fill the average parent's mental landscape on the daily.    And it doesn't matter how many boxes get checked...    ...more filter in.    And we keep going.    Because...what other choice is there?    There is a choice.    Once you know how to SPOT burn out, you can STOP burn out.    1️⃣You need more support. No, your child's school while you're working is not adequate support if you need to combat burn out. All hands on deck, please.    2️⃣You need more joy. If that means your kid does one less activity so that you can have some time to do something that lights your soul on fire, then for the love of goddess, please do it.    3️⃣You need my book, Parent Yourself First so you can address the wounds beneath the burn-out.    You're not alone on this journey. I'm happy to support you.    ✅ If you have my book, would you please write an Amazon and Goodreads review?
