Goodness so much for her to contend with! She was continuing with the fiesty and really kinda funny insults but then she mentioned hurting multiple times so, in the end, I brought her up and talked to the nurse. They said they would give her something for pain (Tylenol) but honestly I just don’t know. I don’t know if THEY know! She was not near as fidgety but was saying her stomach hurt, she touched her chest when saying hurting, and then her legs hurt. Walking those halls (after all I’ve come up upon) can be so stressful. I am glad she is almost always in her wheelchair now BUT with the fidgeting I just don’t know what is the best thing for her. Her emotions are so raw and reactive. It breaks my heart NOT that she says “hurtful” things but that she feels them! Her asking for her Dad had my hopes up TBH. How I long for mom to have a memory, any memory! But I see none. Sometimes a mention of her house but that is about it now. I hate that for her. I would gladly join her in any era of her life that she chose to visit. But we seem to only have the here and now and only on her terms. Which is fine. Thankful she loves my husband so much! Sometimes the end of a visit can be the most revealing. Her moods, her agitations, her lack of understanding. ROFL I didn’t plan it this way (its just the next visit that I wanted to share) BUT clearly this is a Valentine’s Day visit for My Little Momma and My Hubby! Lordy but she loves him so! There are times when mom’s words cut right to the place in my heart that feels complete and total guilt for not being able to rescue her from her predicament. From the disease, to her living conditions, sll of it is awful and there has been so little I could do to save her from it. I feel that so deeply. No way to get rid of it that feeling. I can reason it out of my head with all the reasons for why and how we are here. But it only throws a blanket on the guilt. The guilt lives comfortably in my mind. Wowzer! Trying to get away from the noise is an uphill battle when you have no private quiet space to call your own. This clip is a perfect example of searching for quiet, finding quiet and losing quiet! Mom was so much more communicative, focused and expressive. It was beautiful! How does YOUR cookie smell? She eats differently every single time! And it panicks me a bit because I know where we could be headed. She didn’t care! LOL She is just so funny sometimes. Moving her from the memory care unit to a (hopefully) quieter spot BUT I did smell an odor on our way out and worried mom may need to be changed. It took me a minute and I chatted with an aide to determine if mom needed a change before heading downstairs. I think its clear at the end of this video that mom understand so part of it.
