I loved @B Parfums’ class especially because of the education component. We learned the difference between top notes (fruits, spices, fresh, aquatic), middles notes (flowers and greens), and base notes (woods, musk, gourmand, materials). Everything was thoroughly broken down from longevity of each note to examples and even more detailed examples of each note. Even learned the history of scents like oud and musk. The perfumes you make are 16-17% fragrance and are eau de Parfums. There were I believe 4 stations around the room and we got to go to each one, smell, and note what scents we liked. Then we got to go back and add drops of the scents we chose to a mini beaker. We even did the mixing ourselves and if after we mixed our fragrances we wanted to adjust it, we were able to. For example, I wanted mine to be sweeter so I went back to the base notes station and added more crème brûlée. Depending on what size bottle you get, it starts at $99. The owner, Bontu, was great and so knowledgeable.
