Symptoms aren’t just night sweats and hot flashes…although they can be. ‼️I always say women are like puzzles and we are all trying the right pieces to help with our perimenopause symptoms Here are some things that have helped me👇🏼 🚦But first make sure to save this post and follow if you are on a perimenopause journey too. Let’s be friends👋🏻 Here’s what I am doing that has helped me👇🏼👇🏼 1. More protein-I am aiming for 1g per body weight each day…but also sometimes I don’t hit that goal and THAT’s OK! Upping your protein intake, can help if you haven’t tried it, start with making sure your day starts with breakfast high in protein. Would you like me to share some of my favs? I also used to skip meals and was eating too minimal of calories. My body thought I was starving so it started holding on to my food which was when I noticed weight gain 2. I started on hormone replacement therapy. This isn’t for everyone, but balancing my hormones had immediate decrease in my symptoms. There is so much new research too on HRT & check out my HRT live with my functional medical dr if you are on the fence. 3. For me cutting out refined sugar & alcohol not only helped me sleep better but helped me control my weight 4. I used to do so much cardio, but now I dedicate most of my time to heavy lifting. I feel stronger and have increased my muscle 5. Trying different supplements (with help from my functional medical dr) that helped specifically for my symptoms. I wish someone would have told me that the more I worry in perimenopause about my ⭐️weight ⭐️lack of sleep ⭐️the anxiety I am experiencing  ⭐️the fact that often times I can’t remember people’s names or why I walked into another room ⭐️and the countless other symptoms of perimenopause  ‼️The more they consume and control me‼️ There is so much information out there. So much to consume, but sometimes it just brings on more anxiety…more fear of the future. Here are some things I am doing instead (and I hope you will steal some of them😉)👇🏼 ✅taking supplements that make me feel better and that take the edge off my “symptoms” (see my highlight bubble under hormones for what I am taking). ✅Moving my body in ways I enjoy. Ice skating, walking my dog, being out in nature and heavy weightlifting  ✅Not withholding things from myself-If I want a treat I have it. ✅trying to not harshly judge myself and give myself grace ✅Buying the bigger pants size! ✅Watching how I talk to myself (this is a BIG one). ✅Starting HRT if it’s right for you And lastly, give yourself a big hug. Your body has gone through a lot as a woman. If you really think about it, we really are amazing and our bodies are stronger than we think.
