📣Did you know perimenopause most commonly affects women from the ages of 40-45. In some cases it can start as early as 35. I had no idea at 42, I was going through perimenopause. I thought I was too young. ‼️Wheb I was 40, I started experiencing mild symptoms. Mostly symptoms of anxiety, feeling alone and depressed. I am normally a super upbeat person so these symptoms came out of nowhere. I saw a doctor who prescribed me antidepressants. Although, I do think they are helpful for a lot of people, I felt like it was the wrong diagnosis for me (I also know MANY women who have had this similar thing happen). I kept searching for answers and finally found a doctor who would listen. I was in fact in perimenopause at the age of 42. I tell you this, because YOU know your body best. Keep searching for answers and a doctor who will listen. I have learned along the way that many doctors did not learn about perimenopause or menopause in school and I receive messages from women daily that they have been dismissed by their doctors. Here’s my advice: ⭐️Write down your symptoms & be ready to advocate for yourself. ⭐️Don’t give up until you find a doctor who will listen I share my story, so you won’t be quiet about yours. As women, the more we speak up the more people will start listening so that more women start feeling like themselves again. Tell me your most uncommon symptom below👇🏼👇🏼 ➡️If you are 35+ push that FOLLOW button if you want to know more about perimenopause & menopause as I navigate my own journey through it. #perimenopausehealth #perimenopausesupport #perimenopauserelief #over40club #overforty #thisis44 #hotflashes #anxiety #womeninspiringwomen #beautyover40 #momsover40 #40somethingmom #womenover40 #middleagedwoman #olderwomen #weightgain #womenover35 #hormoneimbalance #hormonebalance #hormonehealth

Whether a hormone acts locally (only where you place it) or systemically (on your whole body) depends on the concentration and dose. ✅ Higher doses of hormone can act systemically, even if given vaginally. Lower doses, like what we use with low dose vaginal estrogen for GSM (or low dose vaginal estrogen for the face) act primarily where they're applied. 😁 But, even a low dose vaginal estradiol (ex 0.01% = 0.1mg/gm) can act systemically if you apply enough. For example, if you apply 3 g to your vagina and another 5 g to your face, neck and chest, you're getting 0.8 mg of estradial, which is similar to the dose we'd use in a 1 mg/gm estradial (systemic) cream. ⚠️ Yes, it's complicated. And, fyi... The dosing for patches, sprays, gels, rings, est is completely different from the dosing of creams. 😩😩😩 #HRT #hormones #womenshealth #perimenopausehealth #menopause #perimenopause #menopausehealth #estrogenmatters

Life hack I wish I knew earlier… Why You’re Really Overeating at Night (and How to Stop)✋🏼 It’s not just because you don’t eat enough during the day—and it’s definitely not about willpower. The real reason you keep reaching for food at night? Your nervous system is stuck in overdrive. All day, you’re juggling responsibilities, handling stress, and running on fumes. By the time you slow down, your body crashes into shutdown mode, and that’s when the urge to numb out hits—scrolling, Netflix, and comfort food feels like the only way to escape. But that relief? It’s short-lived, and once it fades, you’re left with frustration, guilt, and the same stress you were trying to avoid. Yes, undereating can play a role, but if you want to break the cycle, you have to regulate your nervous system. Instead of turning to food, build a toolbox of coping strategies to help you decompress throughout the day: ✔ Touch: Try a warm shower, weighted blanket, or cold water on your hands. ✔ Sound: Listen to calming music or white noise. ✔ Movement: Walk, stretch, or literally shake out tension. ✔ Breath: Use box breathing (inhale 4, hold 4, exhale 4, hold 4). ✔ Grounding: Hold a warm mug, diffuse a soothing scent, or notice 5 things around you. Regulate throughout the day so you’re not left trying to self-soothe with food at night. What’s one thing you can add to your checkout routine today? ✨ Want my free Mindful Eating Skills Guide? These are my top tips for perimenopause. #perimenopause #perimenopausehealth #hormonebalance #womenshormones
To make things even more complicated, some symptoms, like depression, anxiety, irregular periods and bloating, can be due to high estrogen OR high progesterone! 🤬 If you're not sure, I recommend talking to your doctor. Sometimes blood tests help. Sometimes they don't (ex in perimenopause). Charting symptoms can be useful.📉 Do you feel more high E, high P or low in both? ❓ P.S. The above are "classic" symptoms but that doesn't mean that everyone with these symptoms has high E or high P. And, you can high high E or P without these symptoms. 😵‍💫 #hormones #womenshealth #perimenopausehealth #estrogenmatters #pcos #fibrocysticdisease #hrt
Replying to @DoMmo low estrogen symptoms can also be managed with nutrition and lifestyle therapies. While estrogen is undoubtedly helpful, employing some of these other therapies may get you through this time. #perimenopause #perimenopausehealth #estrogen #menopause #menopausesupport use

Are your menopausal symptoms due to poor adrenal function? ❓ Short answer - probably not. 🤔 Longer answer ... While we understand something about how the adrenal glands upregulate various hormones during the menopause transition we don't know exactly what that means in terms of symptoms and disease prevention. ✅ Original video by @dr.reese if you want to see the whole thing. #HRT #hormones #womenshealth #perimenopausehealth #menopause #perimenopause #menopausehealth #estrogenmatters

‼️If this was helpful and you want to know more about how I am navigating this new chapter of life, comment BOOK to get all the info for when my book launches February 18th.👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 I wish someone would have told me that the more I worry in perimenopause about my ⭐️weight ⭐️lack of sleep ⭐️the anxiety I am experiencing ⭐️the fact that often times I can’t remember people’s names or why I walked into another room ⭐️and the countless other symptoms of perimenopause ‼️The more they consume and control me‼️ There is so much information out there. So much to consume, but sometimes it just brings on more anxiety…more fear of the future. Here are some things I am doing instead (and I hope you will steal some of them😉)👇🏼 ✅taking supplements that make me feel better and that take the edge off my “symptoms” (see my highlight bubble under hormones for what I am taking). ✅Moving my body in ways I enjoy. Ice skating, walking my dog, being out in nature and heavy weightlifting ✅Not withholding things from myself-If I want a treat I have it. ✅trying to not harshly judge myself and give myself grace ✅Buying the bigger pants size! ✅Watching how I talk to myself (this is a BIG one). ✅Starting HRT if it’s right for you And lastly, give yourself a big hug. Your body has gone through a lot as a woman. If you really think about it, we really are amazing and our bodies are stronger than we think.
