What to eat pre and post workout for maximum benefit.  Pre-workout strength- 15 g of protein. This can be 2 hard boiled eggs, 1/2 protein shake, 1/2 cup cottage cheese.  Pre-workout cardio-30 g of carb. This can be 2 rice cakes, one large banana, 1/2 cup of oatmeal (cooked).  What to eat post-workout.  Women, Eat within 45 minutes. Men, you have a bigger window (2-3) hours post workout.  Post workout-40 G protein.  Protein shake-Mine is 36 g of protein.  1 cup Greek yogurt and 3 eggs.  5 oz chicken Ladies when we workout fasted, we don’t burn more fat, we actually store it because it’s very stressful on the body. Cortisol remains high until you eat. It feels like this terrible right of passage that we all have to go through and yet no one talks about until you’re in the thick of it….😭😑🔥 There are so many opinions out there…  So as a nurse and a mama I want to tell you my experience🫶✨✌️ I’m a wife, mama of 3 soon to be 4… and a year ago I felt like I was losing my mind at the age of 36😬😳 I was experiencing the following👇 Weight gain (especially in the mid section) cystic acne  hot flashes  crippling anxiety  Irritability  crazy mood swings  intrusive thoughts  snapping at my family  losing my temper  Exhausted all day and wired at night  waking at 3am every morning I went to the doctor and a nautropath spent thousands on lab work and testing all to be told this was normal for my “age” and i could take an antidepressant for my symptoms or something to help with the anxiety… The natropathic doctor confirmed I was in perimenopause and suggested biodentical hormone replacement which I wasn’t against but it just felt like there had to be another way.
