We see spider mites more in the winter here in the Midwest because the heat is running all day and our houses dry out. It’s important to keep your plants clean to help prevent infestations. Especially plants that are high risk, such as Calathea and alocasias, when you water them, you can water them in the sink or shower and rinse off the leaves at the same time. Running a humidifier, using humidity, trays, and grouping the plants together can also increase the humidity and help prevent spider mites. my favorite prevention and helper is using bottom watering and self watering pots. What do you like to do to prevent them?
