Replying to @Dari • Content Creator Haircare Tips – Protective Styling Redefined Product Queen: @Mysty 💥Trigger Warning💥 Hear me out: even though I’m a coloring and microlink specialist, I also offer wigs…. and here’s why. You simply CANNOT keep your hair in constant manipulation. I often advise my clients to take a 1-2 week break between microlink installs. The TRUE definition of a protective style is one that minimizes manipulation and shields your hair from environmental factors like extreme weather. Unfortunately, popular styles like braids and sew-ins aren’t truly protective. They’re often heavier than natural hair, causing scalp tension and stress. The only styles that fully protect your strands are those that completely cover them while reducing tension… think crochet braids, wigs, and properly done quick weaves, (w/ no leave out.) Of these, my favorite is glueless wigs. But hey, 🤷🏽♀️ if you prefer using glue, just make sure to place it IN FRONT of your hairline, NOT ON it. Glueless wigs allow your scalp to breathe, let you care for your hair underneath, and come off easily at night. Just place it on a mannequin, oil your scalp, and throw on your silk scarf or bonnet. Simple, effective, and truly protective!
