Watering plants when I noticed these spots getting worse on my anthurium. Much to my surprise I found thrips larvae!! I removed the most infected leaf and cleaned the rest. I add systemic bionide to my monsteras & philodendrons as a preventative. I have heard that it can make spider mites worse, so I don’t use it on my alocasias, calatheas or Anthuriums. This anthurium did not spend the summer outside. And I didn’t see thrips on any of the other plants. I cleaned and examined every plant in the room and didn’t find anymore anywhere! I have no clue where they came from. After washing the plant I wiped down each leaf “Big leaf energy” from @Bless Your Soil It is a neem based insecticide. (Use code Pothos for 10% off your order) Then I put the plant in quarantine. More larvae could hatch again. If there was larvae inside of the leaf when I sprayed it, it would have been protected. Whether I see more or not, I’m going to spray it down again in a few days. In addition, I’m still looking for signs of them on my other plants. So far so good. Wish me luck!!
