My before and after of my weight loss/fat loss journey. Fellow mommies, I know how hard it is to A) make time for ourselves and B) stay consistent enough to see real results. There’s also this myth that we can’t lose our mommy pouch. As someone who went through a twin pregnancy and has a C-section, I shared that fear. I thought I’d have to starve myself and do intense workouts, but from my experience, neither of these are necessary. Slow and steady workouts add up, and eating well-balanced, high-protein meals makes a huge difference. The ‘before’ in this video isn’t even my true ‘before.’ At this point (in the white tee), I had already lost 30lbs (14kgs) from my postpartum weight and maintained for a while. Then, 6 months ago, I decided to restart because I wasn’t happy with that weight. Postpartum is a willlld time. But one thing I’ll continue to preach is the importance of not only resting, but prioritizing your recovery too! I’m a firm believer that we don’t talk enough about core and pelvic floor recovery postpartum! As well as all the incredible benefits of prioritizing light and gentle movement postpartum! Heck i know my OBGYN didn’t ever recommend me to a pelvic floor therapist and if I didn’t research and learn about the benefits of it myself, i would have skipped over it completely! & if you are someone who plans to get into an exercise routine postpartum, skipping over pelvic floor and core recovery work could lead to prolonged dysfunction and different issues arising! This video has the exact plan I’ve done for my last 2 pregnancies. I’m almost 1 year postpartum with my second daughter after having 2 births 22 months apart of can truthfully say i feel so strong and confident in my body! I am so grateful i took the time to prioritize my overall wellness during those early postpartum months to be able to feel strong and confident again! My workout schedule is sustainable, i only workout 3 days per week and prioritize my step count on others! It is possible and it doesn’t have to take up hours of your day! I have been following the wake, eat, play, and sleep pattern.  • THIS IS YOUR KEY. make sure you pay attention to the wake windows of how old your baby is. My baby is two months old and he can only stay awake from 60-90 minutes. • try to get the naps to last atleast an hour and a half, but no longer than 2 hours  • make sure you are feeding them every 3 hours during the day! You wanna make sure They get all their calories during the day! Issues I see being completely ignored in US postpartum care are standard in traditional postpartum practices worldwide. Take the faja, also known as belly binding or, back in grandmas day, the girdle. First look will have you think this is just for aesthetics and weight loss, restrictive rather than supportive. But it’s absolutely about support! I was dealing with intense uterine pain, swelling (sometimes looking 4 months preggo again!) incontinence, and a waistline that wasn’t changing almost a year postpartum. Imagine all the organs in your body suspended perfectly by ropes… now replace those ropes with noodles 🤪 I imagine millions of women are dealing with postpartum complications that have never been addressed in years. With my second baby about to arrive, there’s so much I’m doing differently this time that I wish I’d prioritized as a first time mom.  Even now, there are things I already know I’m going to do a better job of prepping for if we are blessed with more babies in the future! One of the biggest + most important lessons I’ve learned in motherhood, is that your baby needs YOU far more than any item, piece of baby gear, or trend. That’s why a lot of the items on this list that I recommend aren’t “baby things” but rather investments you make into yourself during pregnancy, birth, & postpartum.  You as a mother are quite literally equipped with everything your baby needs to thrive, give or take a comfy sleeper & maybe a diaper😉 It’s so easy to let ourselves be convinced that we need thing after thing after thing to mother our babies properly.
