i originally wrote this back in 2023 after hearing about a sh00ting in tennessee carried out by a trans person that, instead of being discussed as a šŸ”« violence issue, was being used as a way to justify anti-trans sentiments and legislation. since iā€™ve written it though, iā€™ve tweaked the lyrics a bit to be applicable to how trans people (and other minority groups) are often framed as being the source of all of the USā€™s problems šŸ™ƒ itā€™s currently unreleased, but itā€™ll be on my second album that iā€™m currently working on rn (and if youā€™d like to hear abt it when it comes out, feel free to follow my other socials šŸ”— on my acc !) #transmusician #transmasc #folk #folkmusic #protestmusic #protestfolk #transprotest #trans
Replying to @Rex's Gear Reviews Woody Guthrieā€™s song ā€œThe Ludlow Massacreā€ tells the true story of a bloody battle in the Colorado Coalfield wars. His accounting of it differs slightly from what historians know of it today - but not by much. The Ludlow Massacre was a mass killing perpetrated by anti-striker militia during the Colorado Coalfield War. Soldiers from the Colorado National Guard and private guards employed by Colorado Fuel and Iron Company attacked a tent colony of roughly 1,200 striking coal miners and their families in Ludlow, Colorado, on April 20, 1914. Approximately 21 people were killed, including miners' wives and children. #ukelele #baritoneukulele #folksong #woodyguthrie #protestsong #protestmusic #unions
