“🎶 Every breath you take, every move you make… I’ll be watching you. 🎶” Life as a quadriplegic on a ventilator comes with its unique challenges. My ventilator is literally my lifeline—it keeps me breathing, and I can’t risk it coming off. That’s why I always have someone with me 24/7 to make sure I stay alive and kicking (well, metaphorically speaking). I am beyond grateful for the people who dedicate their time, care, and energy to watching over me—nurses, caregivers, family, friends. They are my safety net, my support system, and sometimes, my comic relief. I couldn’t do this without them. But let’s get real for a second. Having someone with you all the time also means you never really get privacy. Want to binge-watch a show in secret? Nope. Feel like ugly crying or plotting world domination? Someone’s always there. It’s a delicate balance—gratitude for the help that keeps me alive and the reality of never truly being alone. Some days it’s comforting; other days, it’s a reminder of how different my life is. But at the end of the day, I choose to focus on the gratitude. Because every breath I take is thanks to the people who make sure I can. So here’s to the real MVPs in my life—the ones who watch over me, laugh with me, and make sure this ventilator stays exactly where it belongs. Thank you for being my everything. ❤️
