- The Absinthe Underground by Jamie Pacton - 4 stars A sapphic fairy tale adventure for fans of classic Holly Black where the cat is in the bag and the fae are never to be trusted. A bit formulaic in structure, but a fantastical and fun romp. - Every Time You Hear That Song by Jenna Voris - 5 stars Two timelines interweave to tell a story of finding yourself and the sacrifices you can choose in pursuit of your dreams. For fans of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, but I far preferred this one. - Metal From Heaven by August Clarke - 3.5 stars Lesbian revenge during a fantasy industrial revolution where capitalism takes no prisoners. Atmospheric, wordy, and unfortunately a bit blurry, but the stone butch representation is a breath of fresh air. - The Deep Sky by Yume Kitasei - 3 stars A sci-fi thriller full of messy friendships and relationships between women who were forced to compete before they worked together. Though the characters are often frustrating, the twists are surprising and many are interesting discussions arise. - The Curse of Eelgrass Bog by Mary Averling - 4 stars A fantastical middle grade mystery with some scary elements and lessons about grief, loneliness, and family. Things are safe enough while still having exciting stakes and a dash of sapphic romance. - Crowns & Swords by J.L. Meyrick - 2 stars A princess stows away on a pirate ship to escape political marriage but ends up embroiled in conflict anyway. An okay plot but the execution was lacking in most aspects. Sapphic and polyamorous romance.
