Recipe ⬇️ • Preheat oven to 350°F. • Melt ½ cup unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in chili flakes and 1 heaping tbsp miso paste; cook until golden brown/ starts to foam (5-7 minutes). Cool in the fridge without solidifying. • Mix 1½ cups flour, 1 tsp baking soda, ½ tsp cream of tartar, 1½ tsp pumpkin spice, ¼ tsp nutmeg and ¼ tsp salt • Strain ½ cup pumpkin puree in a cheese cloth • Whisk cooled butter, pumpkin puree, ½ cup each brown and granulated sugar, 1 egg, and 2 tsp vanilla. Fold in dry mix. • Chill dough for 3 minutes. Roll into balls, coat with cinnamon sugar, and bake 10-12 minutes. Cool before icing. • Turmeric icing: Beat 8 oz cream cheese, ¼ cup butter, powdered sugar, ½ tbsp turmeric, and 1 tsp vanilla until smooth. Decorate cookies and garnish with chili flakes if desired.
