And the gag is, she STILL wanted to give me a āneeds improvementā AFTER the campaign š I said oh HELL NAH, I did not just spend a month of my life working 18 hour days, getting sick from the immense amount of stress/work, creating one of their most ICONIC and high performing ads everā¦to still get the lowest perf. So you know what I did? I emailed every person I worked with across the company asking for their feedback on what it was like to work with me (low and behold it was all glowing), then cross referenced that in a massive document detailing everything I drove on that campaign. (I still have this if you want to see it) I brought her the doc, presenting undeniable evidence that I deserved a better rating so she acquiesced and gave me a āmeets expectationsā š¤Ŗ even tho I ALSO quite literally saved the campaign from falling apart when Macaulay wanted to pull out the night before shooting (but thatās a story for another day) You can tell this still gets me fired up š but damn do I love a good comeback story. So what are our takeaways here? 1. NEVER let someone tell you what youāre capable of or who you are. 2. So often when we seemingly hit ārock bottomā, thatās the turning point before our biggest wins. 3. Feedback canāt kill you, donāt take it personally, and donāt accept all feedback as absolute truth. Because sometimes, itās not coming from an entirely objective place. Sometimes, people just donāt like you (usually because you trigger their insecurities) Anywaysss, thereās so much more to this story but Iāll leave it here for now. Lmk if you want to hear more of the lore or see some BTS footage! . .
