I MISS MY MANAGER! I know that might sound odd but yes I do miss him, Jerry Cromwell. Today makes it 5 years I exited my job as a sales consultant for Toyota, ending a lovely run that was my first foray into consistently high volume sales. I got hired after a 10 minutes conversation with Jerry. He told me straight off the bat, I do not care about your knowledge of the car business, what I care about is that smile and composure you kept after I told you I would have preferred you wore a different tie to this interview. Funny story, he made me wear a pink tie a week after I started working. In the years I worked for him he taught me a lot. ✨ Dedication ✨ Customer Service ✨ Emotional Intelligence ✨ Loyalty ✨ Do what you say and say only what you will do Jerry always took the time each month to seat with everyone on the sales team and ask about our families. He was an inspiration and made everyone feel the company really cared about us. His health got worse and he had to stay home and shortly after he passed away. For a man I had come to respect a lot, that dealt a blow. Three months after, I also took my leave after getting my first real estate license and moved out of state. I kept my promise, after I left I took a trip to his home town of Raleigh, NC and spent a weekend. Some times it is not the institution or the place that makes a difference, but the memories of those that made it home. Rest easy Jerry, you are missed.
