🥚 EP 7. Egg drop soup was one of the first rice cooker videos of mine to go viral! But thats not why that video lives in my head rent free…It was also a video I made a voiceover mistake in by wrongly relaying how much salt I put in based on retracing my steps and watching my raw footage 😭 So naturally, I panicked when I got an influx of comments mentioning how salty it was, and I felt so bad. Now, I make sure to write things down as I go haha🥚 My rice cooker is a 2 cups cooked / 4 cups uncooked size. Ingredients 2 cups chicken stock 2 eggs 1 tbsp corn starch, use less for thinner soup 2 tbsp water 1/2 tsp soy sauce 1/4 tsp salt 1/4 tsp white pepper Green onions Turmeric powder or yellow food coloring (optional for color) 1. Add the chicken stock to the pot and hit cook 2. Combine corn starch, water, and turmeric powder 3. Add the cornstarch mixture/slurry to the the chicken stock once it boils 4. Beat 2 eggs and drizzle into the soup once it comes back up to a boil. Stir the soup while you drizzle slowly to get nice ribbons! 5. Add soy sauce, salt, and white pepper 6. Top with green onions and adjust seasoning to taste! #eggdropsoup #eggflowersoup #chinesefood #ricecooker #ricecookerrecipe #cookininricecooker #smallkitchencooking #dormcooking #cookinghack #asianfood #chinesefood #ricecookerhack #collegecooking #livingalonecooking

🍝 EP 9. This gochujang pasta was one of my most popular rice cooker recipes from last year! 🍝 My rice cooker is a 2 cups uncooked / 4 cups cooked size. Ingredients 4oz pasta 1/3-1/2 cup pasta water As much garlic as your heart desires, minced 1 tbsp gochujang 1/2 cup heavy cream 2 tbsp parmesan cheese + more for topping parsely, chopped salt and pepper, to taste 4oz chicken (optional) *see notes* 1. Cook pasta and reserve pasta water 2. Saute minced garlic and gochujang. If using a rice cooker like mine, you’ll need to put the lid back on in order to set it to cook. 3. Add heavy cream and parmesan. Again, if similar model to mine, put the lid on and you’ll probably need to hit cook again. Salt and pepper to taste. 4. Occasionally stir till sauce begins to reduce 5. Add pasta and slowly stir in pasta water till sauce thickens and binds to the pasta 6. Top with parmesan and parsley! NOTES! In the original video I made for this, I did not use chicken. If you want to make it with chicken in a rice cooker like this current video shows, add the chicken to the pot along with the garlic. Saute till the chicken is no longer pink, then add the gochujang! Because the chicken’s weight will keep the trigger of the rice cooker depressed, you probably won’t need to hit cook again in step 3. It should stay on cook! #gochujangpasta #creamygochujangpasta #pasta #gochujang #koreanfood #koreanfusion #ricecooker #ricecookerrecipe #cookininricecooker #smallkitchencooking #dormcooking #cookinghack #asianfood #ricecookerhack #collegecooking #livingalonecooking

🍛🍜 EP 10. Recipe in Caption! “Kare” Udon or Curry Udon made in a tiny rice cooker! You can substitute the beef with whatever you like and also add vegetables too. Let me know how you like to spice up your curry udon! 🍛🍜 My rice cooker is a 2 cups uncooked / 4 cups cooked size. Ingredients 1 cup dashi (1 cup of water + 1/2 tsp dashi powder or make from scratch) 1 serving udon noodles 3 oz thinly sliced beef 1/4 small onion, thinly sliced 2 tsp soy sauce 1/2 tbsp mirin 1 tsp sesame oil 1-2 curry roux cubes, depends on how thick you want the broth Oil 1. Add a bit of oil to the rice cooker pot and “saute” the beef and onions. You will need to place the lid on top in order to flip the switch to cook if you have a model similar to mine. 2. Once the beef is cooked, remove and set aside. 3. Clean out the pot. Add the dashi, soy sauce, mirin, and sesame oil. Hit cook. 4. Once the soup is boiling, add the curry roux. TIP! Chopping the roux into smaller pieces and using a strainer helps dissolve the roux easier. 5. Add the udon to the curry soup alone with the sautéed beef and onions. Place the lid back on top and cook per udon instructions. 6. Adjust seasonings to taste!
