I said what I said…and let me explain why 🤓 If you SUCK at running, I’m talking like every run you try to go on you dread, your heart rate is always way too high, you can’t seem to catch your breath, it seems like you’re always giving it everything you got and not really getting any better, it could be because you’re simply going too fast. Slow down speedy Gonzales!! Haven’t you heard the story of the tortoise and the hare?? And now you might say, “well Lexi, I’m already running at a 10 minute mile pace, that’s pretty slow isn’t it?” And I’d say, “well yeah, that might be slow for some people, but it’s obviously not slow for you because that’s as fast as you can go right now”. Not every run is about going out and running fast. I used to treat every run with the same mindset of just go out run at a pace that feels good, but when I was just starting out, that “good” pace was actually me just running as fast as I could at the time. So to new runners out there, if you’re currently running a 10 minute mile, go out on a REAL easy run, and run between an 11 and 12 minute pace. Do this once a week and after a few months, see how your faster runs improve 🙌🏼 #
